Install & support
Getting Storm Veil mods onto your Eco server, tuning them for your world, and knowing what to send us when something goes wrong.
Installation
Four steps
Storm Veil mods install like any other Eco server mod. You need file access to the server — this is not something players install client-side.
-
Stop the server
Shut Eco down cleanly before touching the
Modsfolder. Copying files into a running server produces load errors that look like mod bugs. -
Install the Framework first
Copy the
StormVeilFrameworkfolder into your server'sModsdirectory. Every other Storm Veil mod depends on it, so it goes in even if you only want one mod. -
Add the mods you want
Copy
AOETools,SVElectronicsand/orSmartStoragealongside the Framework. Keep each mod in its own folder — do not merge or rename them. -
Start up and tune
Start the server. Each mod writes a config file on first run; stop the server again, edit the values you want, and restart to apply them.
Before you upgrade: back up your world save and your existing mod configs. Replacing a mod folder wholesale will overwrite a config you have customised.
FAQ
Common questions
Do I need the Framework if I only want one mod?
Yes. AOE Tools, SV Electronics and Smart Storage all build on the shared systems in the Storm Veil Framework. Without it they will not load.
Do players need to install anything?
No. These are server-side mods. Players connect normally — the server delivers what they need.
Will these conflict with my other mods?
They are built specifically to avoid it — narrow patches, documented seams, and a shared foundation instead of competing overrides. If you do hit a conflict, tell us which mod and which system, and we will look at it.
Can I change how a mod behaves?
Most behaviour is exposed in each mod's config file — AOE radius and calorie costs, SV Electronics recipe costs and skill placement, Smart Storage routing preferences. Edit while the server is stopped, then restart.
Is my existing world safe?
Adding these mods to a running world is supported. Removing a content mod like SV Electronics will remove the objects it added, so take a backup first — as with any mod change.
How much do they cost?
Nothing. Every Storm Veil mod is free for any server, public or private.
Bug reports
What to send us
A good report turns a week of guessing into an afternoon fix. Please include as much of this as you can:
- Eco server version — exact build number, not just "latest".
- Storm Veil versions — the Framework plus each mod you have installed.
- Full mod list — including mods from other authors.
- Server log — the section around the error, or the whole file if it is small.
- Steps to reproduce — what you did, what you expected, what happened.
